Yoga at Ilam

What to expect

Throughout July and August join Gavin on Monday evenings from 5:30pm and Thursday mornings from 9:30am in front of the beautiful and historic arches on the lawn below the Italian Garden. These nature connected classes will last about an hour and typically inclued an hour of mindfulness, pranayama and a sequence of asana (yoga poses) designed to allow you to connect with the surrounding landscape, your mind, body, and breath.

The flow is suitable for those new to yoga as well as those in a regular practice and will be led by Gavin or one of the Atavi team, all of whom are qualified yoga teachers and advocates of the healing powers of nature. Participants must be 18 or over (16/17 if accompanied in the class by an adult).

You will need a mat (although your teacher will have a few spares), warm layers that allow movement, a bottle of water and have booked your spot by following the link below. Please also be prepared to practice in full sunshine and take whatever measures to prevent burning.

In the event of light rain we will move under the cover of the historic arches (pictured in the video and picture above).

I really hope that you can join us and explore the wonders of outdoor yoga here in the open outdoor spaces around Ilam Hall.

Parking is available on site and is free to NT members with a valid membership card.

Single classes cost just £10 (follow the link below). Multi-class passes are available and offer a chance to receive even greater value.

Gavin is a qualified yoga teacher trained in India with years of experience practicing and teaching Ashtanga/Hatha styles of Yoga. His classes are typically grounded in Ashtangas heritage with an accessible modern twist.
